Join New York Classical Theatre in Carl Schurz Park this summer for a special “Take a Seat” week of The Tragedy of Julius Caesar. Directed by Stephen Burdman and performed in NY Classical’s signature Panoramic Theatre style, Shakespeare’s gripping political drama unfolds all around the audience—while guests remain seated and the action moves throughout the park. Bring a blanket, a picnic, and enjoy free professional theatre under the open sky along the East River.June 23–28, 2026All performances begin at 7:00pmEnter at East 87th Street & East End AvenueFree and open to all. Reservations encouraged at nyclassical.org/caesarSPECIAL EVENINGS:Family Night w/ PLAYDAY: Wed, June 24_______________In The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, Shakespeare explores the fragile line between loyalty and ambition, patriotism and betrayal. When a group of senators moves to stop a powerful leader they fear may become a tyrant, their decision unleashes consequences far beyond what they imagined. A gripping examination of power, persuasion, and responsibility, Julius Caesar remains a play for now.
